Last week, in addition to studying for a multitude of AP exams and testing, I made sure to find time to reflect on my experiences and learning in ISM this year. First, I completed a product assessment that detailed the research process, development, and editing stages of my final product. In addition, I also explained the community impact and applications of my research report to tie together my overarching goals of learning and aiding the community simultaneously. In addition to this assessment, I also completed an ISM reflection assessment. I utilized my final assessment to accumulate all of my thoughts and realizations. It is so crazy to think that I have officially completed my “final” assessment of the year! I outlined the development of my original work and final product, mentorship success, personal expectations I had set for myself, and professional and personal growth.
After spending adequate time transforming my thoughts and revelations from the highlights of my journey in ISM, I also reviewed my peers’ final presentations. It was incredibly eye-opening to see their passion and learning unfold after reflecting on my own growth. I enjoyed seeing their unique trajectories and experiences in ISM and made sure to provide my own comments and suggestions for their individual improvement. I, alongside my peers, have come a long way this year and it feels extremely surreal to be already wrapping up my year in ISM and moving onto graduation in two weeks. While my time in ISM is coming to a close, the experiences and knowledge will forever remain with me. Like all good things, ISM too must come to an end, but the beauty lies in it being just the end of a new beginning.
