Poulomi Mitra-Founder.jpeg

Hello,

a bit about me:

I'm Poulomi Mitra, an ISM student and senior at Centennial High School in Frisco, TX. Not only am I an aspiring neurologist, but also an ambitious student, avid volunteer, and creative baker.

My interest in neuroscience arises from my fascination with the inner workings of the brain and how it affects our bodies. Growing up, I have experienced many around me suffering from strokes, migraines, and other neurological disorders and this further sparked my interest. I am incredibly grateful to be a part of the ISM program as I will have the opportunity to obtain hands-on experience and gain technical knowledge from professionals in the field I am looking to pursue. I am excited to learn more about neuroscience as I continue to figure out how I can integrate my passion for helping others with my passion for medicine.

MISSION STATEMENT

As an aspiring healthcare professional, I intend to advance my knowledge in the field of neuroscience to better prepare myself for a career in that specialization. Additionally, I aim to develop research, presentational, and occupational skills that will help me transition to the professional workforce. Ultimately, through ISM, I hope to solidify my passions for neuroscience and broaden my experience as I discover my place in the world.
