SO CLOSE, YET SO FAR…

3/16-3/22

Last week in ISM, I spent the majority of my time working towards my final product, updating my work logs, and most importantly, constructing my final product progress assessment. My product progress assessment required quite a lot of reflection as I had to think back to my ability to keepy up with my set deadlines, articulate the setbacks I faced along the way, and include my next steps to completion of my product. While I had planned out my product quite a lot and had thorough discussions with my mentor about it, my progress had been going pretty slow. However, completing the progress assessment served to not only demonstrate my advancement this semester, but also stimulate a better trajectory that has expedited the process of putting together all the elements I have acquired into a cohesive research paper and engaging video. After completing the assessment last week, I was able to use my written documentation as a motivation to start writing my paper and ended up finishing nearly half of it! Over the weekend, I decided to start creating slides for my video and while doing so, realized that completing the presentation prior to completing my paper was easier in helping me to foresee an overall line of reasoning and effective delivery of information.

This week, I intend to complete my slides for my video presentation and get more work done towards my research paper. Additionally, I will need to draft my final product night invitations to send out to the guests I wish to invite. FPN is not that far away as I thought it was and the deadline for my final product seems to be creeping up pretty fast. The end seems really close, yet there is still much work that needs to be done between now and then. I am excited to push through and develop a product that encapsulates my success this year in ISM and is reflective of something that I am proud of.
