The past two weeks were spent surviving rolling power outages, cold water, freezing temperatures, and boredom. With the beautiful snow, came its hardships. While ISM did not take place as usual and virtually all classes were cancelled, I was still able to make some progress during the tough times. During the week of the winter storm, I was luckily able to complete a research assessment. I came across an interesting article about the use of technology in the neuroscience intensive care unit and found it to be extremely helpful in offering insight about the applicability of these technologies in healthcare. I learned about new equipment and how it directly revolutionized treatment.
Last week, although there were lingering effects from the snow storm, I was lucky to have a somewhat stable internet connection and made progress with ISM and my other academic responsibilities. I reviewed my product proposal draft and, using my mentor’s suggestions and critique, modified it to create my final proposal. I also created a product log and tracked the amount of time spent and progress made working towards my final product thus far. Yesterday, I reviewed two of my peer’s digital portfolios and gave constructive feedback. I enjoyed seeing how my classmates formatted their portfolios and made progress in ISM.
This week, I intend to produce a guest list with people I am looking to invite for final product night. I will also craft a product progress assessment with documentation of all the work I have done this semester. I am glad that things are getting back to normal and excited to return to my ISM journey!
