Last week was an unconventional one in ISM as it mostly consisted of nothing but relaxation. The week before Thanksgiving break had been stressful, to say the least, with the research speech presentation, research assessment, and a heavy load in all my other courses all piling up. Amidst an arduous week, however, there were highlights as listening to my peers’ presentations was enthralling. Additionally, I was successful in exploring music and its effect on and relationship with Alzheimer’s patients for my research assessment. Learning about this discipline and its interconnectivity with neuroscience was very interesting and beneficial for incorporating into my original work. Despite this small accomplishment, I felt void of any creative power I would need to formulate an engaging original work and knew that the break would be an excellent opportunity to power up. As such, I followed my plan and made sure to rest and take it easy.

Although there is no tangible evidence, I am pleased to say that I have also obtained considerable success in treating myself and making sure I am fully equipped to start anew. This week, I intend to focus on my original work project by forming an outline for the different sections of my patient guide and figuring out if there is further research needed for any specific area that has not yet been covered by my research assessments already. I will also browse through different online resources to start thinking about the structure and organization of the guide. Even though the next few weeks leading up to the deadline for the original work will be busy, I am definitely ready to hit the ground running!
