Last week in ISM, I delivered my original work presentation! After weeks of planning, organizing, editing, and rehearsing, I managed to effectively present my speech. I made sure to build on my research speech from earlier in the year and took into consideration the feedback I received from both my peers and instructor, Ms. Penney. I am very proud of myself for being able to talk for an even more extended period of time and for improving on my weaknesses. I was grateful to receive positive feedback from my peers and comments that demonstrated their genuine interest in my topic and speech. Afterwards, I listened to my speech and reflected on it. I was successful in delivering my speech with a natural flow and not resorting to my natural tendency to speak faster.

Additionally, I completed a research assessment last week that delved deeper into electroencephalogram (EEG) electrodes by exploring its relation to neural tracking of speech. I enjoyed furthering my research on this significant technology being used in the field of neuroscience today. The article, Effect of Number and Placement of EEG Electrodes on Measurement of Neural Tracking of Speech, led to much probing and pondering about possible implications and advancement of applicability of EEG electrodes. The questions I acquired fueled a new path of research that I will be going into this week for another research assessment. This week, I will also need to create a final draft for my product proposal and a product log that details the amount of time I have spent and will continue to spend towards my final product this semester. I have already made a lot of progress as an ISM student, but there is much more I will need to make in my final semester this year.
