Last week, I looked over the speech and the presentation I had been adding to for the past few weeks. It seemed like I had everything put together the way I wanted to present my research and experiences to my peers and the only thing left for me to work on was refining small bits and pieces and practicing my delivery. With my research presentation, the only area that was a bit deficient was my delivery of information and this is something I am working on to improve. This is crucial to enhancing the quality of my speech and is definitely a transferable skill. I spent some time putting these finishing touches to ensure that the original work presentation I give this week is the best possible version. I am proud of what I have accomplished this year and I hope to emanate that. I am excited to share my growth and learning with my classmates.
Additionally, I spent a good portion of my time reviewing and deconstructing my fifth interview with Dr. Jose del R. Millan which was conducted two weeks back. Dr. Millan is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and in the Department of Neurology of the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin. I enjoyed gaining his perspective as a professional in two intersecting fields and reflected on our discussion in an interview assessment. As I have decided to explore the technological sector of neuroscience for my second semester in ISM, this interview was extremely influential in gauging my thinking and obtaining inspiration from someone who was once in my shoes. Because this interview was very memorable and significant to my current path in ISM, it is definitely one I am looking to share about in my upcoming presentation. In addition to this, I made a mentor log last week and tracked the time I have spent thus far with my mentor. This week, I am primarily focusing on presenting my original work speech and finding a research article to acquire knowledge on for my final product.
